I looked through the preview and I'm wondering why this is advertised as compatible with BRP? I didn't see anything I would call a Basic Roleplaying stat-block.

Thanks

I have a hunch it was meant to be Basic Fantasy RPG, not BRP.

We are working on getting page 91 Black pudding fixed ASAP. For now this includes what was covered up by the illustration. And thanks again for pointing this out Thomas W, very much appreciated.

"A black pudding is a syncytium, like a giant slime mould. It moves relatively slowly, but can cling
to any surface and cross any gap. Black puddings can eat almost anything except stone, but they prefer meat. If struck in melee, by a missile, or by lightning, it will take no damage, but will divide into two smaller creatures, each of which fights
as a full-sized one. Cold has no effect on black puddings at all, so most adventurers use fire to kill them.
A black pudding can consume a dungeon door or a suit of plate mail in a couple of rounds. A mailshirt, shield or weapon will take but a single round. Enchanted objects have some resistance to this effect and will take one extra round per +1 bonus for the black pudding to completely corrode and destroy."

I think it would work fine for 2e. You may need to read some of the encounters and adjust things a bit (I never played 2e, but I used many 2e modules in our 1e games). Thanks Thomas W. That was exactly our goal.

It isn't a problem even as is. After a fast reading, the module looks like a great addition to any DM's collection and hits that great size where you can prep it fairly quickly and yet have enough meat on the bone to keep your group busy.

I'm waiting to hear back from DriveThru RPG support regarding the printed book. Once the PDF is corrected a new PDF will be sent to you (and you will be notified). Luckily the image is covering only a minor line in a monster description (so its not critical to the game).

Just picked up the print and pdf and glanced at the pdf. It looks good but there is a problem with the image on page C91 overlaying the text. I hope this can be fixed before going to the printer, but even if it can't this is a nice product.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
