THE LONG ROAD HOME

2009

Long Range Team-601 left on its last mission. Four years in a savage SouthAm drug war with little support from home and no quarter given by the enemy. When the war ended, the team was scattered into civilian life, but their combat instincts, that craving for the rush of action, couldn't be purged.

2015

John "Professor" Freeman, Captain of LRT-601, builds a bar as a rallying point for his former teammates, and a haven for other SouthAm vets. He calls it The Folorn Hope -- a place where soldiers and solos can fraternize with others that "speak the language" and know the nerves that come with living hard and fast.

2020

Today, the regulars at the Hope continue to run the Edge, across the country and around the world. And you can be there with them in 8 different adventures, from a corporate extraction with a twist, to a murder investigation gone bad, to a monster hunt in the wilds of Eastern Europe! Pay your dues and become a member of the most exclusive solo fraternity around -- The Folorn Hope!

Anyone know if page 26 is missing, it is on the Humble Bundle version...

I can't see the print quality of the text from the preview. So far he blurb in the black box on page 2 is unreadable. I saw this in print at a game store locally and could not read the text of the actual adventure. It was blurry as hell. Can you show more pages of the preview? I'm very hesitant about buying this due to this fact.

I've bought the PDF, and it's as you say. Some text boxes have either grayish or black background, and the text is unreadable. But it's mostly stat blocks or additional info. Most of the time you can at least grasp the gist of it. Your example with page 2 is the worst, the second worst is 'rumors' box on page 75. Others are better.
Adventures themselves are printed black text on white background, so it's almost perfect readable.

Megan's review is spot on. This is my all time favorite CP2020 book. I bought it when it came out (showing my age here). The characters are well thought out and the adventures are fun as well as linked to different NPCs in the Forlorn Hope. I plopped this into Night City, had a simple hook for the PCs to stop by here, and through the course of meeting a few of the NPCs and going on one adventure, this became their hangout. They met all the NPCs here and I add more over the 4+ year campaign I and a friend of mine co-GM'd.

I highly recommend this supplement/adventures book.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
