“Good and mighty Sirs and Madams! What an honour this is! Please forgive my intrusion, but Master Rogarth, the esteemed Keeper of Relics, has urgent need of your services. I implore you, follow me now to Master Rogarth’s home that he may speak with you immediately. I regret to inform that time is already against us. Please good masters, gather up your belongings posthaste. I shall explain things further on the way.”

In this adventure, the Astravali, a relic of the First Age, has reappeared as a faded deck of tarot/fate cards, washed up on the shores of Crow’s Keep. Acquired by a wealthy collector known as Rogarth, the deck stayed in his possession for some months before being stolen by agents of the Ordo Malefactos 48 hours ago. Inquisitor Varro, his Giant Ape guardian, and others of his retinue departed Crow’s Keep immediately thereafter, most likely heading for southern Melek. Rogarth needs the party's help to get his deck back, and if they succeed, they are welcome to draw from it...

Every Adventure Framework is set in a generic medieval or ancient fantasy location, with enough meat to enable the GM to improvise details (with minimal prep) and adapt to player choices. System wise, these adventures use the Low Fantasy Gaming RPG (an old school/modern mix d20 based game; free PDF), but are easily adapted to any d20 system.

Armed with a handful of Adventure Frameworks, you can sandbox like there's no tomorrow. Browse through your library of AF's, throw out a few hooks, and let the players bite where they may. Whatever direction they take, you'll be ready to handle it with aplomb. Hope you enjoy.

Check out our Free starter adventures: AF 40 Call of the Colossus, AF 25 Revelry in Northgate and AF 13 Gift of the Silent God.

Note: This AF is not in the Midlands Low Magic Sandbox Setting book/PDF.

A full set of illustrations for this variant Deck of Many Things would be a nice product.

We'd love to have a fully illustrated deck, perhaps one day. But for now the cost is simply too great.

There are some really nice ones out there already, and some nasty amateur abominations.

Google 'Cultzilla The Deck of Many Things' for a lovely mediævalesque deck perfect for LFG.

I know I am a broken record here but would love to see the colour adventures collected in a POD, any chance of that here or on Lulu?

Anthony that Cultzilla deck is amazing! And yes we do mean to put the colour adventures into a book at some point (similar to Adventure Framework Collection #1).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
