Not even the most ardent death penalty opponent could muster much sympathy for Mark Weldon. Convicted of a heinous string of murders, no one was sorry to see his appeals run out.
There was a total news blackout on Weldon’s execution. There was no one in the witness room. No family to claim the body. Only the warden, two guards, and the attending physician were present when Weldon became Subject 9, another test of the doctor’s experimental drug designed to keep the convict’s mind alive while his body rotted in its barely marked grave in the prison cemetery.
That was the plan anyway.
But a prison break unveils a dark cold war secret and puts the entire town in danger. The heroes must stop Weldon, or whatever he's become, before sinister government agents get to him and continue the doctor's research.
