Augusta Universalis - The Gravitational Artifact (ENG)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Gravitational Artifact is a complete adventure module for Augusta Universalis, the Roleplaying Game of Humans and Empires Beyond the Stars.

Infinite mysteries and infinite resources lie hidden among the stars. Man, naively and with exasperating arrogance, yearns to discover everything in the universe in which he lives. He aims to intimately understand the very fabric of the cosmos as he resides there, much like a fly enclosed in a jar, which tries to describe the shape and vastness of the whole world.

We delude ourselves into believing we know most of the physical laws that govern the stars and the galaxies ... but it is only an illusion, a soap bubble made of dreams and arrogance. So, as a result, even a little knowledge is enough to spark our curiosities as long as the universe decides to open even just a glimpse of its mysteries because this bubble bursts!

Lafrenius Flavius Apellinus - Philosopher and astronomer of the Ordo Minervae

The solar system... Earth... A mysterious, incomprehensible signal suddenly reaches most external monitoring systems in our solar system, then spreads throughout the neighbouring space through very powerful sub-spatial waves. Not words, but rather impulses that from the analysis immediately carried out by the most expert scholars of the Ordo Minervae seem to present a sort of rhythm of precise logic. Without a doubt, it is not a spontaneous physical phenomenon, but some messages created by an intelligent life form are not categorized among the known forms of communication.

Soon after that, the incredible happens. Beyond the orbit of Pluto, less than 100,000 kilometres from our solar system, at 23:47 in the city of Rome, an unstable space portal opens, from which emerges a Sserath war cruiser.

Will you be brave enough to investigate this mystery and travel beyond the unstable Pons Einstein-Roseni, which pierces through space only to reach an unknown place in the Universe?

Augusta Universalis is is a chronic role game of humanity and empires beyond the stars. Published by Acchiappasogni, written by Marzio Morganti and illustrated by Fabio Porfidia and Gaetano Carlucci. The project was successfully funded on KICKSTARTER.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
