Beastlands' Maelstrom Of Celestials is filled with 285 Celestials statblocks generated by code. Each monster has been generated procedurally making it hard to metagame and to keep your players on their toes.

These 285 select monster statblocks between challenge rating 0.125 and 26. Each with motives, abilities, and actions that are impactful.

Sometimes this book will be updated as I add new abilities and more art to the book. Each update will be free for your use and will have 285 new Celestials.

I purchased the Christmas Special Bundle, so along with the Celestials book, I got all of the others as well. These monsters are nearly unusable in their current form. Many of them are tragically over-powered, and the Celestials especially have many properties that don't thematically fit, either. No weapons at all, only XXX, claw, tail, or wings. No smite abilities like a paladin or other official Celestials. Some attacks dealing poison damage rather than radiant or fire. Even the highest CR only have darkvision out to 40', no truesight anywhere. Most do not have innately magical attacks, even the high CRs. Many with stats that don't match up to their ability scores. (Hp doesn't add up using dice averages and CON modifiers is one of the biggest.) Also, the procedurally generated names are incessantly identical. Chunks of text missing. Awesome! Thanks for the feedback, and I am sorry that it was not everything you expected it to be. But, it does give me valuable feedback that I can build into my generator. Some of these things I have thought about.

I did build most of them to be rather challenging, but if it is a thing that the community would like. I can adjust all the stats with very fine control. I have always have been a Dungeon Master that has wanted more challenging monsters if the fight starts going south maybe I don't use some of the mechanics or lower the hp. You do have full control over what your players have to actually fight by the end of it.

There have been times I have used these monsters and they were not strong enough as well. I do like the feedback about weapons and something I can flavor for the celestials. These are actually fairly simple to implement for little investment.

Hitpoint math is a bit wonky, I was trying to hit average hp of monsters from the monster manual... The funny part...See more

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
