Meet the Revenant…

“Lookit those clouds! Ya sure about this, kid?”

“Sunday” Su didn’t immediately answer the grizzled old port master’s question. A storm front was moving in from the west; he’d have precious little time to prepare before getting started on the latest leg of his search.

“Yeah. I’m sure,” he answered. “What’s the nearest town?”

“That’d be Bozath; ten klicks that-a-way. But from the look’a those clouds, kid, you’re better off stayin’ here at the port awhile.”

Sunday studied the clouds for a moment. It looked like it would be a rough storm – perfect cover for getting close to his Enemy. Maybe even finishing this once and for all.

“Thanks, but I’ve got business that can’t wait.” He tossed his meager belongings into the rented ground car and climbed in, gripping the steering controls with scarred hands, and pausing for one more quick scan of the approaching storm. He guessed it would catch him about halfway to town. As if to illustrate the point, a distant crack of thunder centered in the general direction where he knew his chase would end…one way or another.

The happiest day in Seon-Dae “Sunday” Su’s life was when achieved his lifelong dream of joining the Scouts. But after only one term, his dream — and almost his life — was brought to an abrupt end when an accidental discovery on a lonely planet wiped out his survey team and escaped. Now the sole survivor of that episode has dedicated himself to the recapture or destruction of the thing that killed his comrades and his dreams…or die trying.
