Warhammer Age of Sigmar Soulbound: Bestiary

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Mortal Realms are besieged. Packs of savage beasts stalk the wilderness. Parades of disquiet dead stirred by baleful magics haunt the nights, enacting terrible vengeance upon the living. Hordes of Orruks, Grots, and Gargants rampage unchecked, driven by little more than destruction and despoilment for their own amusement. And the innumerable servants of the Ruinous Powers that once brought about the end of the world take root wherever mortals tread. The realms are rocked by never-ending conflict and nowhere is truly safe…

The Mortal Realms are filled with countless strange creatures and monstrous beasts. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar Soulbound Bestiary provides a vast collection of these great and terrible foes to use in your Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound adventures, and gives GMs advice on how best to build exciting encounters with these monstrous and maniacal foes.

The Soulbound Bestiary contains

  • Over 180 terrifying new foes to use in your Soulbound campaign, including some of the most iconic creatures from Warhammer Age of Sigmar —  from the reality-warping Tzeentchian Lord of Change, to the merciless Knight of Shrouds, to the awe-inspiring Kraken-eater Mega-Gargant.

  • Gamemaster advice on building exciting and memorable encounters, and how to use Doom to give an extra edge to these conflicts.

  • Detailed descriptions of each creature and faction, including advice on using them in your game, their tactics in combat, and rumours reflecting what the people of the Mortal Realms know of them, some of which may be less than reliable!

Seems to be an issue with the final page of this PDF. Solid color pink/purple with no text? No back page art? Re-downloaded it a couple times. Same problem...

That page wasn't even present in the first download. I don't think it's supposed to be there at all.

After further reading of Bestiary I have to say that I appalled at the number of mistakes.

Something this badly proof read by publishers should be recalled until fixed and anyone that bought it refunded.

It's most noticeable when it's an obvious error, like an ability telling us that a creature's Toughness should be 2 x (B + M + S), but then it's not. Of course, this even shows up for many of the (non-Minions) where Toughness isn't calculated correctly and in other places where attack values have similar issues. Soulbound's simplicity and straightforward rules make such errors really easy to spot. Unfortunately, errors in abilities unique to a specific creature are going to be harder to spot (if they even are errors).

Lots of great stuff in here, but it needs a lot of errata. If you buy this pdf right now, you're a paying proofreader.

And it looks like the first round of proofreading has already produced some needed errata, which is incorporated into in a 210330 version of the pdf.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
