A Dozen Terrifying Rumors

Now that there are over thirty entries in the modern series of A Dozen . . . PDFs, I find that some of my favorite to write are the various rumors titles. Why is that? Because they give me the chance to create one-shot, entertaining scenario ideas that – I hope! – gamemasters find useful both as background noise and, at times, the skeleton of a complete game session.

Just in case this is your introduction to the A Dozen . . . series, let’s go over the basics of the line:

• Each PDF is a systemless work, which requires the gamemaster to provide any necessary game statistics. I offer some very basic mechanical suggestions at times, but the heavy-lifting is left to the GM.

• The PDF’s ultimate goal is to inspire gamemasters. It is my hope that as you read through this document, you have ideas of your own on how to twist, warp, and adapt each of the entries to suit your personal needs.

And that is it! Once you understand those two key points, the entire series should make a lot more sense. Enjoy!
