Applefest

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Prior to the Ulerian holy week, the peaceful community of Apple Lane comes together to celebrate the upcoming harvest with a festival of thanks. The children of the community recreate the classic Lightbringer Quest under the watchful eye of the local Thane.

This year however, something is different. The children chosen for the quest seem to resemble the gods, important digntaries from Clearwine and Kero Fin actually show up. The adventurers must keep the festival peace, entertain and impress high profile guests, lead the children on a quest and everyone had better enjoy themselves. How hard can it be?

Tried to purchase this for my Kindle, but it doesn't download. Message says it's protected by DRM and can't be read on my Fire. Suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback... first time posting to Drivethru and there were some hiccups. I'm seeking advice from some more experienced folks on how to fix this, and the full sized preview, which doesn't want to work at all.

Graeme, you will need to add the Jonstown Compendium logo to your front cover. Drop me an email to nick[at]etyries[dot]com if you'd like some help doing this. It looks like a great scenario, I enjoyed skimming it as I added it to the Index and will probably run this for my group when we get started gaming again.

Thanks for the interest. I had not considered POD, primarily because I wasn't expecting this to take off and I would have to figure out the PDF format for it. I'm not even sure what the criteria are before you can make a pdf. Also, there have been a bunch of very nice productions on JC recently and I would have to up my game a bit to be in the same league. Still I am working on it, along with Applefest 2. Sadly changing careers and covid have hampered progress.

I also read your message about the format not working with kindle? Has that been resolved? I ask because the file format for submissions to JC seems fairly strict and I'
I'm not sure what I would have to do to get around that.

Again, many thanks
Graeme

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
