Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory - Redacted Records

Confront the Perils of the Void

Explore the space hulks of the Gilead System — huge, drifting masses of ships welded together by gravity and the flames of the Warp, and home to hazard and opportunity in equal measure. Redacted Records I takes Wrath & Glory games away from the relative safety of the Gilead System’s planets and out into the depths of the Void to face unimaginable danger.

This magazine-style collection of articles uncovers numerous secrets of the Gilead System, opening up new settings and antagonists for players to explore and confront, and new character options to increase Agents’ chance of surviving these new and perilous situations.

Redacted Records includes:

  • Insight into the diverse and terrifying space hulks of the Gilead System, from the Chaos-touched Caveat Emptor to the Genestealer-infested Dominus Vobiscum and the Orkish battleground designated Wrath of Janus.
  • Rules and tables to generate your own space hulk, including areas, occupants, events, and salvage.
  • New Frameworks for Agents from all branches of the Imperium, including the elite Adeptus Astra Telepathica.
  • Dozens of new Talents to enrich your Wrath & Glory games.
  • Reports on the strange Servitor patterns of the Gilead System, including the corrupted butcher-servitors of the Abattoir of the Luminous Emperor.
  • Dossiers on some of the sinister cults of Avachrus and Nethreus, to further imperil your Agents

Kinda ticked off. Just bought this and I can’t even download it. When I try to open the file, it crashes my iPad.

Having looked over this product, I DO NOT recommend that anyone buys it. It's riddled with typos, copy/pasted sidebars, missing content and poorly balanced mechanics, and provides little in the way of use to GMs or players aside from a few plot hooks and narrative prompts.

The space hulk rules reference sub-tables that do not exist. The pregenned space hulks are not actually space hulks, but rather random ghost ships (which could be interesting adventures on their own, but its indicative I think of the lack of coordination).

The talents are wildly undercosted (10xp for most talents, as opposed to 20+ for the core book options), reflect a misunderstanding of the core rules of the game (treating Wealth as a static attribute with a prerequisite) and are in several cases attempts to sneak in entirely new archetypes disguised as talents (Assault Doctrine gives you all the gear of an assault marine and some mechanical bonuses equivalent to an archetype ability, and also says you can buy the...See more

Another overpriced, poorly edited, poorly thought out product by Cubicle 7; what is wrong with you guys? You used to bring out quality content, what happened?

To note, for others reading this comment:

- The reference to Subtables was fixed in a recent errata.

- The Frameworks (save one) were fixed, one notation doesn't have actual framework material below it, but it wasn't there in v1.0 so it just seems no one reported it previously.

- Not all of the talents are undercosted (some are) but the point of more than a few talents are to give players something to buy that is lower cost than the expressly deep investment from the CRB.

- Assault Doctrine in it of itself is more for expressly making you a type of marine, rather than making a whole new archetype it's a matter of gear for something so...general. Using it as an Ascension package is like Ascending a Scout from the old USNA v1.0 which if I recall never made it into C7's version (at least looking for it quickly again didn't give any results).

- Half of the talents are not missing, we've been told there will be more issues of Redacted Records, wherein...See more

"- Half of the talents are not missing, we've been told there will be more issues of Redacted Records, wherein we will likely see more of the list of talents after ' I '."

So they are going to piecemeal the product, this just adds fuel to the fire. "Hey, the product is not incomplete, they are just going to sell it in little pieces to charge you more for it."

I think this is a pre-release and will be updated, as the hard copy isn't due until Q12022. They could communicate that better, however.

No, again, this is a "zine" style series of releases. There's going to be more than one.

It is not incomplete when it was never intended to be an entire list in the first place.

Much in the same way that other zine style creations have separate articles sometimes across multiple parts.

So it's a list of how they are piecemealing the $19.99 incomplete zine, got it.

By the way, for those of you who want to know why things are being handled this way, I recommend you take a look at some Youtube videos exposing the practices displayed in Games Workshop's NDA document; every IP of theirs is subject to their "method".

Would love to know where the errata is, since there are no links to it on their website, and searching for it is not finding anything.

Could we please see a sample including the table of contents? Even with the marketing copy, there’s more I’d like to know before purchasing.

A four-page Space Hulk Generator, four pages of Space Hulk Events, five pages of possible "loot", nine pages of sample Hulks that go into detail, seventeen pages of Frameworks, five pages of small lore bits and statblocks concerning Servitors that you can use in adventures for your game, six pages of new Talents, and nineteen pages of new cults, both Imperial, Chaos, and mildly heretical, all of which come with stat-blocks.

All in all, including the Introduction and title pages, it comes out to 94 pages on the PDF. Hope that helps.

Is there any reason why this pdf is seemingly much more expensive then others of C7?

I don't know, but I agree that it seems oddly priced. I will not be paying nearly $20 for less than 100 pages.

I'd assume page count and that it's not really one specific writer rather than a series of articles from various authors.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
