Why in the world are the VTT maps of Death Road at a different scale than the full maps?? That would make the wagon ~28 feet long on a 5 foot grid. If that's supposed to be like a 2 foot grid or something, then you DEFINITELY need to call that out, as that is not the standard. If I do the math it says that the scale would be 2.1875 feet per square, so I'm not real sure WHAT is going on here. The math doesn't work for meters, either. I'm going to just use the non-gridded version and tell my VTT software that it's a 21x21 5 foot grid, but other people will need to know the correct scale, at the least.

Actually, now that I take a closer look, all of these maps in these two 'Exterior' packs have some funny stuff going on with the grid scale. Could you kindly post a blurb about what the intent was?? Thanks so much!

Ok I will try to answer as best as I can. First of all, there was an error in the file.
The what you called ''full map'' was not supposed to be there, it was a thumbnail example which explains the terrible size difference, it was a not a map just a small picture preview, and there was also 3 other thumbnails that were there by error.
All of them have been removed and updated in the new file now.
Why is the scale off with the low res grid version?
Well let's say that each map has 4 version 1x high res with grids, 1x low res with grids 1x high res no grids and 1x low res no grids. If you intend to print the high resolution ones always have a perfect balance in scale of 1 square = 5 feet and they fit with the objects on the maps, so for printing, both of the high res ones are perfect.
For the low res one, let's say that the gridded version is of almost no use to anyone. People who uses the low res version will almost 99% of the time use the one with no grids and apply the grids themselves...See more

Heh, this comment was from back in April, I forgot all about it! Believe it or not, I remembered exactly which one it was when your explanation was that it was a thumbnail example, because that's kind of what I guessed in the first place.

I used a graphics measuring ruler and estimated the thumbnail example to be at 21x21 5 foot grids.. but I'll go ahead and download the new ones you uploaded. Thanks so much for being diligent about fixing these things, that's the mark of true quality! :D

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
