Question on cost of the cyberware (starting page 56): some of the description price doesn't match the table price. EX: Prosthetic arm is 3k on the table, but 5k on the description. Am I missing something?

Hello William, thanks for the feedback.
It must be a typo.
The table has the precedence over the description, so the price is 3K unless the GM states otherwise.

How did you decide pricing? Some of the pricing feelings way more expensive compared to vanilla items with comparable stats.

Hello Tyler,
I decided on purpose to increase the price of some vanilla equipment because they were too cheap for the tech level and their general use.
Also consider, that all the pricing you see in the Equipment Database are not made at random.
I made an excel table and then assigned proper price modifiers taking note of tech level, plausible size and materials, how much it made sense for a specific items a price considering the tech level.
Basically I used price deflactors attempting to maintain consistency as a whole.
The same I did with the Trade Goods Generator.

Is this book for 1e or Rev? Also how well does it upgrade the list of weapons compared to the base book?

Hello Jennifer,
The content is for the revised edition.
All the equipment inside the Equipment Database is new equipment and does not include the equipment described in the Core Rulebook of the revised edition.

Please will you consider including a print-friendly PDF? It's a very pretty piece of cover art, but having it as the background for every single page makes it very hard to read for some of us.

With respect, this isn't the 1950's anymore, Sci-Fi is very much a "show me" genre these days. I hope the full version of this document has illustrations, because on the strength of the sample, I wouldn't buy it. In Sci-Fi, people need to know what stuff looks like.

Hi Gus,
I have not seen the product and are not in any way related to the publisher - but from my understanding I can give you an answer about this one:

If there would be illustrations on every second page - preferrably illustrations designed to match the equipment and having a common style - the product would cost rather 10$ or 20$ more. As far as I know, illustrations are one of the main cost drivers in RPG products.

The main problem with sci-fi stock art is finding the proper amount of images. While with fantasy is very easy and there is a ton of stuff. Indeed, I have already illustrations for the monster manual of World Without Number, from my patreon Dean Spencer Art.
I have searched for sci-fi stuff here on Drivethru, Etsy, Artstation and others. Most of them sells rendering more than illustrations. Commissioning ad-hoc illustrations is possible, but expensive.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
