Fun subsystems that I just take around with me everywhere (Particularly the magic implement creation system) and the Archetypes combined with the Core Rule Book has become my core set of Archetypes to use when running games.

I really like this supplement. It is quite straightforward and seems well balanced, as the author seems to have used the weapon creation rules provided by the EPG to expand upon SotB's "Models include..." lists of weapon models. I removed one point because of the editing/proofing issues, especially regarding the use of "'s" almost every time "s" should be used and vice versa. Layout works fine but is a bit removed from the visual quality of the official books. Disclaimer: this review is from reading the book, not playing with it, although I intend to include it in my Android games.

On the design side, I don't think I can recommend this book. Some of the added cybernetics do not comply with the rules as they mention seconds and meters instead of turns/encounter and range bands, and the others do not seem particularly well designed either. A specific mention for the attachments to cybernetics that work the same way as weapon attachments but are for the most part regular cybernetics already present in the book, potentially breaking the balance because attachments do not incur the strain threshold penalty regular cybernetics do. Then there's editing issues. In particular, the author almost systematically uses "'s" where "s" should be used and vice versa. The book brings meaningful additions to the hacking system, and seems to follow a good design approach. The book is also well laid out. Disclaimer : I haven't had the chance to play with this book, though I expect to use it in a coming campaign.

This is an essential Genesys product. There is so much packed into this one pdf. It's multiple products in one.

Hooly has a wonderful ability to take a seemingly complex system and make it simple to understand. With impressive visuals, Hooly explains how Encounter Zones provide a concrete visual for ground and vehicle combat, without turning it into a tactical wargame. In addition, he explains how they can be used abstractly for narrative and social encounters.

On top of all that, Hooly provides the best explanation of skill challenges I've seen. He outlines three basic types of skill challenges and how they can be used with Encounter Zones. I’ve been running skill challenges for years, but this changes how I’m going to use them in my games.

If you're using the Genesys magic system in your setting, especially if you're new to it, do not pass this up. It's a fantastic guide for players and GM's alike. For those coming frm other systems, it's an absolute must, as Genesys magic can be quite daunting for the uninitiated. This guide has tons of sample spells for the core 3 magic skills as well as a new magic skill, some talents, and a few new spells that really round out the official offerings. Can't recommend this enough.

Skills Guide is a must-have for any GM or player new to the Genesys RPG. Every skill is covered in detail with examples, standard and creative uses, and charts for using Boost and Setback as well as spending dice results for each skill. There are even some suggestions for unique ways to use some skills that aren't covered in the core rules. This supplement deserves a chef's kiss!

This is a really well thought-out adventure with a ton of resources and story hooks. It's got everything you need; adversary cards, maps, npcs, a great story, plenty of social and combat encounters, and great artwork. There's enough content to last several sessions and it really encompasses the spirit of Realms of Terrinoth. It would make a great starting campaign or for continuing an adventure. Highly recommend!

This is one of my most-referenced titles on the Foundry. There's a ton of great info for dealing with various types of checks and challenges, as well as some common setting tropes. Learning and using languages, group checks, morale, perception checks, and skill challenges are just a few of the things you'll find here among some other more unique takes on things a GM regularly comes up against.

The one page write-up does almost enough to get someone interested but very little beyond that. I feel as though this was the result of a home game that took off. Where there are ideas and possibilities but no actual substance. The altered movement rule on the first page could be expanded upon or completely ignored (including requiring the Star Wars talent trees). Obviously this product is just the introduction to (a lot of) a setting with premade character packs sold separately - for far too expensive, but even at $0.00, it leaves me turned off from the rest of the offerings.

The amount of love and attention that went into making Awakened Age is unparelleled and it shows! My favorite bit is probably the Talent "Shrubs" that are used similarly in Something Strange. Beyond that, though, Scott introduced the option to use these same rules but at different Tiers of superheroes. For example, street-level friendly neighborhood InsectBoy or cosmic-level you won't like him when he's mad Bulk. This adaptation to the Genesys ruleset opens up options for players and GMs to be able to tell the stories they want to tell and have their characters feel that way as well. Lastly, this is of course another title from Scott which means it is beautiful and excellently laid out! Top notch supers supplement and all around spectacular document regardless of the spanax and cape.

I looked at the preview and was immediately sold. $3 well spent. The section on curses and enchantments was inspiring, and the NPC and Adversary stat blocks are pure gold. The adventure at the end is worth $5 all on its own. If you have ANY fondness for fairy tales, be they Disney classics or Grimm Brothers tales, this supplement is not recommended: It is necessary!
