Propz: Crossing the River
by Peter S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/20/2009 12:02:18

Nice river terrain pack. Different from most as the river banks are raised up from the level of the river. I like this as I can use the blue river tiles that come with the set as the river bottom, place clear plastic over the edges of the river bank and place crocadiles or sharks underneath the plastic in the river to allow the pc's to actually see the danger in crossing the river.

Future Worlds: Mk III Bear APC
by Peter S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/03/2009 10:55:46

Best SciFi APC on the market Primarily because it allows you to create an interior for plastic or card stock space marines to ride in. Far superior to other cardstock vehicles that only provide exterior. In fact, I also print it's interior and adapt it to those other SciFi vehicles that haven't interiors.

very high quality product. surprisingly large amount of content (about 31 pages, not counting instructions, of barrels and boxes to choose from) that would look good on any modern or sci-fi wargame table! A lot of bang for a couple bucks!

Over all a good product. I would have liked a few less repeat modles, mainly the "dammaged" ones in favor of more larger, and differently shaped containers. teh inserts for open and spilled containers are a very nice feature of this product.

by Curtis K. J. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/09/2009 18:17:47

The quality of the model and the easy to fallow instruction make this a must for all those who love to use miniatures on their table-top war games or RPG games. I’ve only built one of the models that come in this, but I must say that it looks great. Will be using it soon in one of our adventures and have already had complements on and it they already want me to buy more. Just take your time when your building this or any of their models and you will not be disappointed.

Propz: Dungeon Features
by Peter S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 09/26/2008 21:33:44

I primarily only print out the treasure chests as these are by far the best versions of any of the many treasure chests I have purchased on the market. They have both a wooden and metal chest and not only open, but they allow you to change the contents to very the treasure or other contents to fit your story. Several of the other items also appear to be very good, it's just that I already have many others that I find just as good that I've already constructed. Even so I felt this product was worth the price even if just for the chests and treasure.

Propz: Minute Dungeon
by César R. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/13/2008 14:25:39

Propz: Minute Dungeon - Plaster & Wood
by Hans H. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/05/2008 16:14:45

When reviewing the minute dungeon I made a wish list of improvements I wanted and this is basically the answer to that. Excellent job and it shows Arid Hills really listens to their customers. Basically it is the same product, so check out that review ,but as I said improved. For example, one small but noticable improvement over the minute dungeon is that the wall texture now goes a bit down on the tabs so if you miss a bit when cutting or glueing you don't get any annoying "white spots". Looking forward to your future releases. Great product for all unless you absolutely need walls with a certain thickness.

Propz: Dungeon Features
by Hans H. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/07/2008 06:48:34

I really liked this product. It looks good and building is really easy. The parts fit together nicely and the details are well made. So far I've built the stone stairs, the pool and the altars. There were no problems with the models themselves but one thing to think about is paper thickness since a lot of parts use double folded paper. Using cardstock here makes the models hard to fold and work with, and using standard 80g paper could make parts flimsy. After some experimenting (isn't pdf great) I used different paper for different parts of the same model which gave a great result. Overall a great buy.

Future Worlds: Concrete Wastelands
by Randy M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/05/2008 16:25:28

I bought this product with the thought of using it in both my Gamma World games and an upcoming WWII campaign I plan to run...and I was not disappointed.

This is a great product, and, as the author states, prints out well on both cardstock (which I use) as well as standard paper (which I accidentally printed out on). :) The instructions are well written and add a sense of humor as well.

The artwork looks great for post-apocalyptic settings and as I suspected, works well with urban war based games as well.

Outstanding job!! I'd like to see ruined buildings and possibly overgrown ruins if you're looking for future ideas (Hint Hint!!)

Propz: Minute Dungeon
by Hans H. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/11/2007 02:15:08

I love these. They are easy to build and don't require special cardstock to build so I can just whip out a few corridors as I need them from the printer. Now that the annoying logo on the floor tile is fixed I really don't have any complaints at all. Some people may have an objection that the walls don't have a "thickness" but since I never build whole dungeons I don't have that problem.

Pros: Easy to build, my record is a corridor in _ 5 minutes (during play) Inexpensive Works with ordinary printer paper, no need for cardstock. Easily customizable, you can build small rooms and non standard length corridors w.o too much hassle.

Cons: None really but see my wishlist below.

Wishlist: I'd like to have the various corridors without doors. Since there is an optional door texture which you can add afterwards I'd like to see the corridors w.o doors so I can add them where I want since I don't always have doors at the end of the hallway. An alternative would be a separate wall texture to cover the doors I don't need.

Different textured corridors and floor. Wood, Plaster, Drapes etc. The models are there and at that price I'd buy the re-textured ones right away.

Small rooms: 45, 36 etc.

Propz: Dungeon Features
by Peter I. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 11/19/2007 11:20:22

Propz Gaming Aids: Dungeon Features is a 35 page pdf product of 3D models for fantasy roleplaying games. This is one of several products in the Propz Gaming Aids lines of products from Arid Hills Productions, and features a large collection of dungeon or even castle features for creating high quality 3D models for your roleplaying games. Propz Gaming Aids are designed around 25 to 28 mm miniature figures, and this product should therefore easily be compatible with similar 3D dungeon or castle sets.

This product comes as a single pdf file that contains an extensive set of bookmarks for easy navigation. Each model in the pdf comes complete with a set of instructions, and the artwork appears on a single page to make printing easier. The pdf also includes a lengthy section on techniques, equipment required and advice regarding 3D models and cutting, which is extremely useful for first-time and would-be 3D dungeon builders. There are a total of 32 different models in this product, although not all are of different types, so for example, there are 6 different types of table, and 3 different altars. The variety in general is more than adequate to meet basic adventuring and dungeon needs, and having seen the quality of this product I'm hoping Arid Hills Production expands on this to create more dungeon features in future products.

Dungeon Features includes the following 3D models: 3 different staircases (stone, spiral wood, and wood), 6 types of table (parchments, with dead chicken, two standard tables with different types of wood, mugs, and a map), 4 types of chair (different woods with or without leather seating), 4 different benches (two different woods with or without padded seating), 3 different altars (runes, sacrificial victim, and dagger/holy water), a door (wooden with a stone arch and skeleton above doorway), a raised pool, 2 styles of pillars (carved square and fluted), 2 treasure chests with five content inserts (treasure, weapons or skeletons), 3 stair tiles to match the stair models (for stairs going down on a level), 3 pit traps (with water, unfathomly deep and with skeleton at the bottom), and standard floor texture. As can be seen, there's excellent variety, and some very useful features that are typical for most dungeons or castles.

Artwork of the models is done at 300 dpi, and is of fantastic and realistic quality. The models once built look really good, and are designed to be used with standard 80 gsm paper, meaning you don't need special cardstock to complete these models. The ones I crafted to get a feel for the product were easy to assemble and looked excellent from all angels, even when turned upside down, since all models such as chairs and tables include bottoms as well as top details. Instructions are easy to follow with very useful photographs showing what the model should look like after each step.

I was impressed by this product - it's got high quality artwork, easy to assemble models, good variety, good selection of models that will actually get used, and the overall pdf was well organised with good bookmarks and layout for printing. There's not much else to say - it's a great product with excellent 3D models that will go well with other sets from Arid Hills Productions, or other publishers. You really can't go wrong here - high quality and good value for money. And, once assembled, these models are sturdy enough to be used time and time again. Excellent product from Arid Hills Productions!
