An excellent resource for building weird and interesting things to discover in your sci-fi AND fantasy worlds. Tons of fun to just read and let your imagination run, too! Well worth the price.

An excellent resource for constructing alien races, creatures, artifacts, and - most importantly - ruined facilities to explore!

As with all of Crawford's SWN products, this one has tons of tables for either inspiring your own creation or randomly generating one to use for a session.

Love it!

This is just damn brilliant. The imagination of this guy is boundless, and it's chock full of good stuff. I started running SWN last week, and used Traveller to generate the Subsector. I had put in 5 alien races, who at this point are just names and a simple idea like Furry Feline Traders, Insectoid Warriors. Figuring I'd get to it. Bought this book, and it completely hits the sweet spot of what I needed, allowing for full generation, history ruins all of it. Remarkable in scope for slightly over 50 pages. If you have aliens in SWN or even a your own campaign of Traveller, and are looking for ideas, get this book.

This has got to be one of the most unique SFRPG supplements I've ever bought. It is LOADED with really inspiring world-building material, and none of it reads like any other SF game I've got. The "Madness" table on page 9 is awesome, and the alien/creature builder material is so much more imaginative than similar books for other SF games. In fact, very little of this is so specific to Stars Without Number itself that I would highly recommend it to GMs of other games such as Traveller, Thousand Suns and so on. When your players make an unexpected stop on some world you weren't prepared for, you'll be so happy you had this handy. There are so many hooks per page, and they are written so far outside of what we've seen in SF time and again, that you'll want to start injecting it into your campaigns and adventures immediately. Your players will think you the most clever GM on the planet, but I won't tell.

Dead Names: Lost Races and Forgotten Ruins is the latest offering by Sine Nomine Publishing for their excellent SciFi series - Stars without Number. Definitely the very best SciFi RPG with an Old School feel combined with creative innovation - Stars without Number is in my top 3 list for SciFi RPGs to read and play!

As with all of Sine Nomine Publishing works Dead Names is top notch and an excellent companion to Relics of the Lost. In this book you will explore ancient ruins, find incredible artifacts and learn about the wonders of lost and forgotten civilizations. One of my favorite sections is the chapter on Broken Toys in which you will find a system for creating your own relics and several sample items to get you started!

I wholeheartedly endorse this book and ALL of Sine Nomine Publishing's RPGs for purchase!
