I was really interested with this story for the theme and the mystery aspect. I was planning on adding it to my Waterdeep campaign. The problem for me is that I haven't played or DMed Curse of Strahd and it seems like this information is something this product assumes you have.

I think this is fine for people familiar with Barovia/vampire lore in D&D but for someone who doesn't know this stuff the sudden end of the material really left me with a lot of guestions and no answers or clues as how to continue the story with my PCs. The material gives no suggestions as to how to resolve the Vampire plot or how to deal with the NPCs with her. It says the vampire is a 'good' character but I don't know what that means, the vampires bite attack doesn't seem to be deadly, so I assume she would be able to feed without killing people, if they are not 'peasants' with 4HP), so I'm assuming the PCs could help her get free of the clutches of her 'keepers', but that wouldn't help the neighborhood that's negatively affected by her precense.

All in all, it's a great set-up for a DM who has ideas for a vampire themes quests/adventures for their party. I as a new DM with no knowledge of Curse of Strahd was left wanting more guidance. I wish the product information would have been a bit more clear about the fact that it's not really a beginning-middle-end type of story/adventure, but more of a set-up for DM generated content

Thank you very much for your review! I will look to adding in a bit of clarification, perhaps a second document that serves as a lore primer. Having said that, The Lady of Trollskull Priory is very much designed to be an expansion to Dragon Heist, simply introducing a new resident to Trollskull Alley who comes with some...baggage. How this is resolved is left open ended quite deliberately. The hope is the players will determine what they feel is the best course of action. Do they slay the lady, regardless of the fact that she is, essentially, a good person in a bad situation? Do they seek to protect her and teach her to feed humanely? How does this play out with the other residents of the Alley and of Waterdeep? These are all left open ended for each table to explore to their own tastes, and all takes on it are valid.

Thank you!
Travis
