Since I'm designing my own system (yet another one, but years in the making), I've read a lot of systems, yet this one is so straight forward and well written - its concept is plain fun but the maths are a bit odd.

Chance of success without Focus

  • Disadvantage: 33% (-23%)
  • Normal: 56%
  • Advantage: 70% (+14%)

Chance of success with Focus

  • Disadvantage: 50% (-25%)
  • Normal: 75%
  • Advantage: 87.5% (+12.5%)

So, I use a single d12 instead (+2 if Disadvantage, -2 if Advantage, -1 if Focused)

  • Disadvantage without focus 9+: 33%
  • Normal without focus 7+: 50%
  • Advantage without focus 5+: 67%
  • Disadvantage with focus 8+: 5/12 = 42%
  • Normal with focus 6+: 7/12 = 58%
  • Advantage with focus 4+: 9/12 = 75%

And complication is on ones on a separate d6 throw on the side.

a great little addition to the tiny system. however need player buy in before as it is out of the way of the normal adventurinf lifestyle most rpgs focus on.

OK attempt at a new idea. I like the idea of a fantasy tavern (or I wouldn't have bought the book!) but by including literally every fantasy race ever invented makes it a mess to play. The rules are OK - but when we tried it the concept just didn't seem to gel too well at all.

I need to have at the rule set with a pencil erasing about 30% of it and try again. I suspect there is a decent game buried in there.

My group just finished up a horror-ish DnD game and when we started talking about what to do next one of the group mentioned he had joined the kickstarter for this. We thought this sounded pretty fun and have played 3 sessions now (We run the Jolly Holly, an inn on the borders of Santa's Workshop). Maybe it's just an effect of 2020, but I think this is the most fun I've had with an RPG, and I've been playing since the early 80s. There is so much just fun, hilarity and just pure joy in this game. It is definitely very rules-light, so if that's not your cup of tea certainly look elsewhere.

The best part of the game is deciding how you failed or what got in your way when something doesn't work. The GM can make that decision, but it's a whole lot more fun if the players do it. It's definitely a game where failing a test can be as much fun as succeeding. The rules-light nature means it's extremely flexible and even a whole new race wouldn't need much work. If you want to run Mos Eisley cantina it wouldn't be hard at all.

Played it twice so far, and the group has loved it. Rules are easy to understand and gameplay is smooth. Totally recommended.

Nice little quirky game. Slice of life, so its good for a break from the more combat focused games. My pixie-panguri crossbreed summoned a hungry ghost, lost control of it, and it became a concern for the entire party.

Fun and quirky game, my groups first experince with the Tiny D6 System. The book is well put together and organized, with copious tables and charts for random generation and helpful tools and sidebars for the GM. I would reccomend anyone who wants a break from the normal dungeon crawl fantasy pick this up for a diversion if nothing else.

I came into this after being a fan of the base Tiny D6 system. That and looking for some mechanics for a tavern or other restablishment building. While it does provide a bit of the latter, it strays away from "rules light" into convoluted by adding mutiple types of tests using cutesy verbage that would require frequent looking up of to keep straight.

As for the art, they went full on furry/disney style and it doesn't do it for me at all (acknowledging art is subjective). The internal art is all B&W pencil sketches which isn't too big of a deal, but some of it looks like it wasn't cleaned up and some pieces are repeated which seems to be a lame attempt at filler.

In general, it's super touchy/feely with character sheets referencing characters' "emotional wellness" and "moods" along with emojis. It seems to be designed for kids and teenagers. If that wasn't the intent, I don't know many RPG tables ever wanting to play it as is. I wish it was more accurately marketed as such or at least that there was a more extensive preview so that I could have made a more informed decision.

That said, I give it a couple of stars for having a decent layout along with hyperlinks (PDF) and for providing a handful of ideas I can use elswhere.

I backed the project and ordered the hardcover, and I'm very happy -- it's a well-made little book full of goodness. It's a quick and easy system that suits the mood and content well, AND the content is versatile enough for use more broadly. You can start a campaign right out of the book using the good ruleset, or use the book's material as an addition to an existing campaign in any other system. Either way, I recommend it.
